Bringing Doma to life in video

Why Doma?

Doma needed to tell their company story of how they are disrupting the real estate industry by changing how people buy and sell homes. However, this turned out to be a complex story involving technology, people, and AI. The result is a blending of animation and stock footage into a clear, concise, and entertaining explainer video.

The Process

We identified the Doma brand elements that translated into the explainer video and landed on an approach that blends animation with stock footage.

These branded elements ended up being the Doma line graphic used to transition between scenes and create the flow of the explainer video story. The Doma M shape graphic is used to reinforce the Doma brand and acts as a visual masking element. And we also incorporated the Doma branded natural photography style for the stock footage used, along with their gradients that are great for adding pops of color to the video animation.

A Great Video Needs A Great Story

Next, we worked with the Doma team on the video script to capture how they're architecting the future of real estate transactions.

We then moved into the animation production process with designed storyboards and a simple hand-drawn animated story flow.

This story flow animation provides a real sense of what the finished piece will look like and guides our animators with on-screen design and action reference.

That’s A Wrap

Along with the finished explainer video, we provided Doma with a complete set of video cut-downs for social media and video guidelines explaining how all these elements live in a simple white frame creating a seamless flow and illustrating the story narrative. How the voice-over is approachable, conversational, and delivered with an air of expertise. And how the music is cinematic and upbeat, conveying how Doma removes the friction and frustration from closing on a home.
